There is no better time to start striving towards your goals than today. Tomorrow is not guaranteed and the longer you put it off the more frustrated you will become. Many people like to wait to start their goals on Mondays, New Years, and now, "after the pandemic". Nothing special happens on Mondays. I know everyone has been a victim of the “I will start on Monday” mentality. Statistics show that the least successful people are those who wait to start their goals on New Years and on Mondays.
I urge you to think about the goals you want, reverse engineer how you are going to get there, then make small, tangible (SMART) goals that you can slowly chip away on. Most people set too broad or big goals that the thought of this untouchable goal overwhelms them and they stop their progress.
Consistency matters more than intensity in almost everything. Instead of waiting for a full day to come around to start working towards your goals, make your habits that will lead to your bigger goal small and easy enough that you don't have an excuse not to do it every day.
Make sure to also prioritize your goals for each day that is at the utmost importance, so if you have a really busy or stressful day, if you got the #1 thing done on your list you can feel at ease that you did it and you moved the needle forward, towards your goals. Too often we keep busy doing things that don't move us towards our goals and we feel depleted and defeated by the end of the day.
Success looks different these days. I urge you to take the time to write out where you want to be in 3, 6, and 9 months. Focus on the feelings, not the material things. That way, there is freedom for your path to change and shift as you slowly get closer to the things you want to achieve and the way you want to feel in the future.
