Photographer Feature: Sue

What or who made you want to be a photographer?

Since I was younger, I loved the idea that a moment could be registered and saved forever, I always say that Photographers have the power to freeze an instant, a feeling or an action.

What made me want to become a professional photographer, was that I had in my hands the power to make a moment last forever.

How long have you been on your photo journey?

I have been working as a Photographer for the past 10 years.

What has been your biggest struggle and greatest accomplishment as a photographer?

The biggest struggle and a Photographer now a days, in my point if view, is that, now, with all these 'great' camera phones and filters, almost everyone can call themselves a "Photographer",

and sometimes they won't value your time, education and the equipment we invest on to make sure our clients receive the best of our services.

My greatest accomplishment as a photographer, is definitely the satisfaction of my clients. I photograph a lot of Weddings, and then after, the clients come back for maternity, family, 1st birthday photos. There's no greatest accomplishment then the relationship I build with my clients.

Do you have a specific style you like to shoot?

I love fashion photography, that's definitely my favorite, and what i try to bring to each client, session and event I photograph.

Biggest pet peeve when it comes to the photography industry?

“You can fix that in Photoshop, right?” (LOL) Photoshop is a great tool, but, it doesn't fix everything. If you want to drive a photographer nuts, just repeat this phrase a few times. . If there is any way we can fix a problem in real life, before we snap the photo, we’ll take that over spending hours in front of a computer screen to "remove a phone from a pocket"

AND Forgetting the photo credit, one of the worst now-a-days. Obviously we don’t like it when newbie photographers steal our work and pass it on as their own. But we also don’t like it when our photos get posted without credit. Give us a shout-out when you post to Facebook, Instagram, or wedding blogs. We live and breathe from referrals, so we want your guests, family and friends to know who took all the photos they love. Plus, it helps us protect our images from those aforementioned photo thieves.

Name 3 things that are on your photo bucket-list?

For equipment, I have been able to fulfill the list, and have all the equipment I once desired.

For images, it is photographing a couple under a storm at dawn (Sounds crazy)

Your favorite photo app to use?

Definitely Lightroom (Desktop or mobile Version)

What camera and lens do you shoot on?

I shoot with a Nikon D5, My favorite lens is the 70-200 2.8, but I also shoot with a 24-70 2.8, 24mm, 35mm, 85mm and 105mm, sometimes I even use a fisheye 10.5mm

If you could photograph any place in the world, where would you pick?

Right now, it would definitely be Bora-Bora

Do you have any photo goals for this year?

To always do better. My self is my biggest competition.
