Why did you start a blog?
I started blogging as a way of self- expression, I wanted to blog about things I loved and the topics I cared about in a really transparent way. This meant a no fluff approach to everything I write wither its a natural hair product review or a post on how to let go of toxic relationships.
What does your blog cover?
My blog is a lifestyle and wellness blog that covers tough topics on self -work...self-work covers self-love, self-care, and self- awareness. My goals are to motivate others to take charge of their lives by living authentically. By being your most authentic self you position yourself to love and care for yourself differently.
What encouragement would you give new bloggers/those who are interested in starting?
1. I would say to just start! It took me so long to push pass my fear and just launch.
2. It doesn't have to be perfect. You don't have to be perfect.
3. Make sure you are blogging about something that you are not only passionate about but something you are excited to share with the world.
- What struggles do you encounter?
As a new blogger time management is a huge struggle for me. I have so many blog posts that I'm either working on or haven't started yet.
I have yet to find the sweet spot between creating content while juggling working full time, my fitness goals, planning a wedding, and having a social life.
Favorite/least favorite part of blogging?
The technical side of the blog is for sure my least favorite part. Blogging is way more than taking pretty pictures and writing witty captions! there is a lot of behind the scene work that goes into blogging.
My favorite part is when I'm told something that I wrote resonated with someone and they share how they are going to use what I shared to care for themselves differently.
How did you come up with your name?
Dani is my nickname, I choose authentic because I wanted to bring a realness, transparency, and rawness that is missing in social media.
How long have you been blogging?
I officially launched the first week in September 2018!
What has been your greatest achievement in this industry? Personal or professional
So far my greatest achievement is when I inspire others to improve their self-care, set boundaries and practice self- love through my blog posts.
Who are some bloggers/influencers or creators in general that inspire you?
alex_elle, Morgan Harper Nichols and the coffeybreak
What do you hope you’ll get out of being a Bloggers Live Boston member?
The sense of community! A huge part of blogging is to get off our computers and phone to connect in real life with other creatives. To build a network of like-minded people!
