Blogger Feature: Cara

Why did you start a blog?

I interned at a couple of fashion designers in college, and so started my blog with a stylish intent. But I want it to be more than that. It is a creative outlet and a place where I feel that I can be my authentic self.

What does your blog cover?

My blog covers "Style and Beauty," "Health," "Feminism" and a "Just for Fun" section. It was important to me to include Feminism, because I was a Gender Studies major in college and identify as a feminist. I felt like it was something I could add to my blog that a lot of other lifestyle blogs are missing./

What encouragement would you give new bloggers/those who are interested in starting?

It sounds cliche, but consistency is key. With both blogging and social media posts. It is something that I am still working on!

What struggles do you encounter?

Finding the time to consistently blog in my busy schedule.

Favorite/least favorite part of blogging?

My favorite part of blogging is the creative outlet. My least favorite part is the over-consumerism, or excessive consumerism. It can be really easy to get caught up in spending a lot of money to be perceived a certain way.

How did you come up with your name?

I wish I had a better story for this! I have always been a busy person; I stay busy on purpose, and always have. I was super busy in college, as many college students are, and I joined Twitter almost 10 years ago with this username. When it came time to start a blog, I thought it fit.

How long have you been blogging?

I started in January 2016. I was recovering from a hip surgery and had the sedentary time to set up my blog.

What has been your greatest achievement in this industry? Personal or professional

Being reached out to for sponsored posts.

Who are some bloggers/influencers or creators in general that inspire you?

So many! I love Cupcakes and Cashmere (and her clothing line), Carly the Prepster, and Blair of Atlantic-Pacific. In terms of local girls, I like Domestikated Life, Style-Wire, Shell Chic'd. And I am lucky to call Fashology a friend and inspiration.

What do you hope you’ll get out of being a Bloggers Live Boston member?

I've already gotten so much! It has been so great to network and meet other bloggers!
